If it’s not that, I’m not wasting my calories on it.

That said, the secret to making these keto crackers crispy is cooking them in the microwave. Seriously, using the microwave really crisps these up. And the crackers end up having an unbelievable crunch to them.

The reason this happens is that microwaves warm up the water molecules in food. And with recipes like this, the water evaporates, and almost “dehydrates” the dough. And the result of this cooking method is a crispy keto cracker.

What Variations Of Keto Crackers Can I Make

There are all kinds of things that you can put on top of your crackers.

You can put any kind of spices on top that you like, for instance, coarse salt, rosemary, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, dilletc

Or you could even add some tasty seeds to your crackers like sesame seeds, caraway seeds, poppy seedsetc

Another thing you can do is to sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top so that it will melt into the cracker while bakingyum!

How To Make Keto Crackers Instructions:

Easy Low Carb Keto Crackers

1. In a small bowl add the chia seeds and water and let sit for about 15 min or until the seeds soak up all the water.

2. In another bowl mix the almond flour and spices and olive oil. Now add the chia seeds to this mixture and mix well to create your dough.

3. Take the dough and form it into a large ball, then divide into 4 smaller balls. This will make it much easier to roll flat.

4. Place each ball between 2 pieces of parchment paper and roll out as thin as possible.

5. Next, remove the top piece of paper and cut the dough into an evenly sized square or rectangle pieces. Put any excess dough from around the edges back into the bowl and add to another ball of dough.

6. Keep crackers on paper and place the paper onto a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 8-9 min, depending on how hot your oven runs, keeping an eye so as not to burn your crackers.

7. When golden brown, remove from oven and let stand for about 5 min. Then take off the paper with a small spatula.

Using Almond Flour To Make These Crackers Keto

As a lot of you know I love to use almond flour in a lot of my recipes. And today’s keto cracker recipe is no different.

My favorite to use is this Almond Flour From Kirkland’s. It’s relatively inexpensive, and it has just 2g net carbs per serving.

And that’s certainly the lowest carb count that I’ve come across for almond flour.

Can you replace the almond flour in this keto cracker recipe?

However, if you want to replace the almond flour with other keto friendly flours you can. Just keep in mind that you’ll want to replace it with sunflower seed flour, walnut flour, or pumpkin seed flour.

“But Joe, what about replacing the almond flour with coconut flour?”

Unfortunately, you can’t replace almond flour with coconut flour.

Coconut flour is far too absorbent and can never be substituted on a 1:1 basis with almond flour.

That said, the best replacement for almond flour in keto recipes is sunflower seed flour. Typically sunflower seed flour can be substituted on a 1:1 basis with almond flour.

Are these gluten free keto crackers?

Yes, 100 percent!

These are totally gluten free keto crackers.

Almond flour obviously is gluten free, and so is parmesan cheese.

So, if you’re looking for an easy gluten free cracker recipe, this is it!

Cooking These Low Carb Cheese Crackers In The Oven

1 Carb Keto Crackers | EASY KETO RECIPES

Well, I tried this.

And I’m going to be honest with you, it’s not as good as cooking them in the microwave.

The edges cook too quickly, and the middle doesn’t cook enough. Which means you have to constantly keep an eye on them, and continually remove the “cooked” crackers from the baking sheet.

That said, you can totally cook them in there, but I don’t recommend it.

If anything, try using your air-fryer if you’ve got one!


Somebody made them in the toaster oven, and it was a total success.

They cooked the crackers at 350 Degrees for 5 minutes and then broiled them for an extra couple of minutes.

I have this thing where I always want to make everything. Ill make bread and ricotta cheese Pete will make fresh pasta and pesto. Sure, we can buy these things in the store, but its so much more fulfilling making things at home, like this Homemade Keto Cheese Crackers recipe.

Sure, you can buy cheese crisps, but why would you when these homemade cheese crisps are only two ingredients. And, theyre two ingredients that you probably have at home: cheese and salt.

Theyre keto-friendly because when youre following keto, you can have cheese. But, even if youre not following keto, you should make these. Because theyre delicious and everyone loves cheese.

Are These Almond Flour Crackers Soft Or Crispy

If you bake these crackers the minimum amount of time, they will be a little softer/chewier.

If you like your crackers crisp, give them an extra minute or two in the oven.

You can even pop them BACK into the oven after if you think they are too soft/chewy after they have cooled.

They also store wonderfully in an airtight bag for up to a week! Magic crackers, Im telling ya!

Is It Hard To Roll Out The Dough For These Low Carb Crackers

The crackers themselves are very easy to make, the hardest part is rolling out the dough.

I have a good heavy marble rolling pin and it makes rolling out the dough a breeze.

However, even if you dont have a rolling pin, you can still make these low carb crackers!

When we rented a house at the beach last Summer, we rolled out these crackers with a can! Its totally doable!

Seasonings For These Keto Crackers

2 Ingredient Keto Cheese Crackers

Like I mentioned earlier, these keto crackers might be better than any store bought ones you’ve had.

And just plain, I think they give Cheez-it’s a run for their money.

But the brilliant thing – and the best thing – is that these crackers can be tailored to your mood/cravings.

Just add a little baking spray to the tops of them when they’re done cooking, then add the seasonings of your choice, and you’re in business!

My personal favorite seasoning is the “Everything But The Bagel” one by Trader Joe’s.

But, I also like a good Cool Ranch keto cracker too. To make that one, I just add a little salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried chives.

Ingredients: ground almonds, flax seeds or flax meal, rosemary, onion powder, baking soda, extra virgin olive oil, egg, sea salt or pink Himalayan salt, black pepper.

This delicious keto-compliant recipe gives you crackers with a denser texture but they are still quite light and really low carb. If you dont have onion powder, you could use a different flavoring instead garlic works well here. They will keep for a few days in an airtight container. If you dont have a cookie cutter you can simply use a pizza wheel to make them square.

Flaxseed is low in carbohydrates so these crackers would fit with several diet plans and they are also gluten-free. No need to miss out on crunch when you are eating healthy!

How Long Do They Stay Fresh

Your Keto crackers will stay fresh for you in an airtight plastic container for about 5-7 days. If they have lost some of their crunchiness, then simply take them out of the container and place them back on a cookie sheet and place them in the oven.

Re-heat them at 350-375 degrees, depending on how hot your oven runs, for 10-15 mins until crispy again. Keep an eye on them while reheating since all ovens run a bit different.

How To Make Keto Sesame Crackers

  • Preheat your oven to 190C/375F.
  • In a bowl combine the golden flaxseed meal, sesame seeds and parmesan and mix well.
  • Add the water and egg and stir vigorously until a firm dough is formed.
  • Tear off teaspoon-sized balls and place on a lined cookie sheet, cover with a small square of parchment paper and used a flat-based object to flatten the dough out to 3/4in/3mm thick. We used the flat base of a water glass.
  • Sprinkle a few flakes of sea salt onto each cracker and gently press down to ensure that it sticks.
  • Bake the crackers for 8 minutes, and then turn over and bake for another 3 minutes. You may need to batch cook depending on the size of your oven and cookie sheet.
  • After all the crackers have been baked, turn the oven off and return all the crackers to the cooling oven to dry out and crisp up for 20 minutes.
  • Allow to cool completely, then store in a dry, airtight jar.
