When Corn Might Have A Place In The Keto Diet

There are a couple different keto diets that allow you to have more carbs than the SKD. Two of these diets being the targeted ketogenic diet and the cyclical ketogenic diet .

While they are both meant for more active individuals, they do differ in when you consume your carbs.

The TKD is meant for individuals that live a more active lifestyle that need a little more carbs around their workouts. This type of ketogenic diet allows an additional 20 to 50 grams of carbs both before and after your designated workout window. This is just enough carbs to fuel your workout without kicking you out of ketosis for long, if at all.

The CKD is meant for athletes, bodybuilders, or another individuals that train at such a high level that they need more carbs in order to perform at their desired intensity.

The CKD follows a STD template for five or six days of the week, with the other day or two being a full on carb backloading period. Carb backloading gives you the opportunity to consume up to 600 grams of carbs in a 24 to 48 hour time period in order to completely refill your muscle glycogen stores.

Looking to curb that crunchy craving? Boy do I have the perfect snack for you. This is one of the best doritos recipes! Fully keto, sugar free and also NUT free.

Basically, I took my cracker recipe and made it into doritos. The only thing is that I didnt have any almond flour and I wasnt able to get any so I ground up more of my sunflower seeds and it worked perfectly!

In this recipe, I used cheese powder, which is basically just ground up dehydrated cheese. You can make your own by dehydrating some cheddar and then putting it through the food processor. OR you can buy some Moon Cheese and grind them up. Super easy!

Now if youre in Europe, Moon Cheese or cheese powder isnt readily available, so I bought a package of Knorrs Cheese Sauce powder and used that instead! Super easy.

One note I will say is to roll the the dough as flat as you can. Paper thin if possible. That way, youll get a ton of chips and optimal crispiness. If they are thick, they will soften up as they cool.

When youre frying the chips, best to use an oil or grease that has a high smoke point. I used beef drippings, but avocado oil, coconut oil, tallow and lard are also great for frying. Remember to be safe and keep a lid near by incase of any fires! Do not extinguish grease fires with water!

If you dont have sunflower seeds, you can definitely use almond flour in replacement. Use 1 cup or 100g.

Making keto-friendly tortillas is very easy. You can make this kind of tortilla in just 20 minutes. This tortilla is grain-free and gluten-free.

For this method, you can use sunflower seed flour, almond flour, or coconut flour according to your preference.

This recipe is as simple as others and also prepares in the same way as corn tortillas, but in this, we replace corn or wheat with Almond flour, coconut flour, or sunflower seed flour.

  • Mix 125g almond flour, baking powder, xanthan gum, and salt to a food processor. Or you can mix them by hand in a large bowl as we Indians do.
