Since an egg fast isa type of keto diet, being in ketosis before you start can make your life a lot easier.

It takes time to adapt to using fat for energy. During this adaptation period, many people experience the keto flu a catch-all term for insomnia, headaches, and brain fog that can accompany carb withdrawal.

Transitioning into ketosis with such a restrictive diet could be tough. Plus, it takes longer than three to five days for most people to get into ketosis, so your efforts might not be worth it unless youre in ketosis when you start the fast. If youre new to the keto diet, dont try this egg diet plan in the first month of the transition.

Benefits Of Eating Eggs

Emerging evidence suggests egg consumption is linked to satiety, better diet quality, and weight management. Antioxidants present in the egg yolk might also help prevent age-related macular degeneration.

Assuming you dont have an egg allergy, eating eggs could be a nutritious part of your ketogenic diet!

How Many Eggs Can I Eat On A Keto Diet

Really, on a keto diet, you can eat as many eggs as you can stand! Again, just be sure to keep your calorie count and macronutrient ratio in check, particularly if weight loss is a motivating factor. Remember, regardless of the kind of diet youre employing, a consistent calorie deficit is still the main key to achieving weight loss.

In fact, some people who are both avid keto dieters and egg lovers report eating up to 30 eggs in a day! That would total around 2100 calories with 150g of fat, 180g of protein, and less than 20g of carbs. Fairly close to the recommended numbers above, isnt it?

But realistically, 30 eggs a day is a radical number for the vast majority of people. This means eating eggs and only eggs for the entire day possible, but definitely a challenge. The more important lesson we can extract is that eggs are excellent for a ketogenic diet. However, if you want to include more eggs in your daily diet, a rough goal of three eggs per day is a great place to start.

Which Toppings For The Keto Boiled Eggs

Anything non-sugared. Can be salt, pepper, Tabasco and other hot sauces. Mustard . Just make sure no added sugar for any topping you may consider.

The real challenge on the keto egg diet is sticking with it, and one way to keep your taste buds keep on continuing is the use of sauces, so be creative with the toppings and tastes you add.

How Many Carbs Are There In Bacon And Eggs

Your average egg will not have more than a single gram of carbs, while 100 grams of cooked bacon will only have around 1.5 grams of carbs. Fried eggs can be incorporated into the keto diet as long as you use keto friendly oils. If youre cooking bacon at the same time, fry your eggs in the bacon fat.

If youre dining out at a restaurant, choose poached eggs instead and save the fried eggs for home. You cant control what fats and oils may be used in the restaurant to fry your eggs, which may not be keto friendly.

Are Deviled Eggs Keto

This probably wont come as much of a surprise, but just like regular eggs, deviled eggs are absolutely 100% keto-friendly.

Just like theres a variety of different ways to prepare eggs , there are also several different ways to make keto deviled eggs. Theyre particularly good with cheese and bacon added.

Deviled eggs provide keto dieters with absolutely everything theyre looking for in a tasty appetizer package: theyre loaded with protein, dietary fat , and essential micronutrients.

If youre already a fan of eggs, then deviled eggs are a no-brainer recommendation for any keto dieter.

What Are Some Quick Keto Breakfast Ideas

If youre struggling to come up with healthy keto breakfast ideas, heres a few good ones you can try:

· Egg burritos quick to make and easy to prepare, you only need eggs, avocado, cheese, and some greens, too. Use a low-carb wrap or tortilla, or take things to the next level with protein-packed egg wraps.

· Coconut or almond flour pancakes: coconut and almond flour are great low-carb alternatives to regular flour. Making pancakes with them can satisfy your brekkie cravings while keeping your actual carb intake low. Pair with a keto-friendly maple syrup and fresh berries.

· Back to the basicstheres nothing absolutely nothing wrong with the classics like fried eggs, poached eggs, and boiled eggs. Add your favourite keto-friendly condiment to keep things interesting!

  • Eat at least 6 whole eggs per day. This is the basis of the diet.
  • Eat a tablespoon of pure fat for every egg you eat. These can be butter, coconut oil, or avocado oil. Ideally, incorporate at least 1 tablespoon of MCT oil into your daily fat intake.

    Absolutely not! WHOLE eggs are one of the most nutritious foods on earth! And MOST of the nutrients are in the egg yolk.

    Instead of selling cartons of egg whites in the store, they should be selling the egg yolks too. Sadly its leftover bad information about the fat in the yolk even though 2/3 of the fat is the good Omega 3 type of unsaturated fat. And for Keto that is what we want!

    Another thing, if you feel you are allergic or sensitive to eggs, theres a good chance its the whites and not the yolks, so give that a try and see.

    What Is An Egg Fast

    An egg fast is a short-term diet plan developed by blogger Jimmy Moore in 2010.

    Its a restricted ketogenic diet a way of eating thats high in fat, moderate in protein, and low in carbs.

    Ketogenic diets help your body enter the metabolic state of ketosis, during which it starts using ketones as a source of energy instead of glucose .

    The purpose of an egg fast is to help you bust through weight loss plateaus. These are discouraging points in a weight loss plan where your fat loss stalls.

    Some people use it to help their body enter ketosis before beginning a ketogenic diet.

    The plan has many rules, including:

    • Whole eggs yolks and whites are the main source of fat and protein.
    • You must consume 1 tablespoon of butter or healthy fat per egg consumed.
    • You must eat a whole egg within 30 minutes of waking up.
    • You must eat an egg-based meal every three to five hours.
    • You must eat a meal even if youre not hungry.
    • You can eat up to 1 ounce of full-fat cheese per egg consumed.
    • You must eat at least six whole eggs per day.
    • Eggs should be local, pastured eggs whenever possible.
    • You should stop eating three hours before bedtime.
    • You can drink up to three cans of diet soda per day but aim for one or less.

    These are the most common rules, but people tend to make their own modifications.

    A typical egg fast lasts between three to five days as this should be enough to overcome a weight loss plateau.

    A Few Suggestions About Including Eggs In Your Diet

  • Try to buy free range eggs, they taste better and the chickens are happier
  • If youre not eating them, refrigerate your eggs, especially if you live in a warm climate
  • If you can get your eggs farm fresh, do that and support your local farmer
  • Our Tip: Put plenty of healthy eggs in your diet, when you can double the yolksboil them, poach them, scramble them. You can even bake your eggs.
