Atkins Bars Are High In Fats

Are Atkins Snack Bars Keto Friendly

At the time of writing this post Ive been on the ketogenic diet for over five years and logged over 250 blood ketone tests in an effort to estimate the effects of food and ingredients on my ketosis, including those in Atkins Snack bars bars.

Atkins products are marketed to low carb and keto dieters, which makes sense giving the history of the Atkins diet, but do Atkins products live up to their namesake? In this post, I’ll evaluate Atkins Snack bars, give them keto friendly grades, and see how they stack up against other low carb treats!

How Many Atkins Bars Can I Eat On Keto

We just said you shouldnt be eating Atkins Bars on the keto diet no matter how low-carb they claim to be.

Thats because keto recommends low-carb whole foods like meat, fruits, and vegetables.

But if you dont have a better option on hand, you can have one.

Your focus should be on using your daily carb intake allowance on high-quality and nutritious foods.

Atkins Endulge Bars Are Not Keto

Atkins Endulge bars will not kick you out of ketosis if you only eat an occasional one as a treat. Just remember not to go beyond your daily carb intake for that day.

The standard keto diet usually recommends 25-50g total carbs a day. Anything above this may kick you out of ketosis.

With 5-8g of net carbs, Atkins bars will still let you stay in ketosis as you indulge in the sweet treat.

However, for a dessert bar, Atkins Endulge is relatively high-carb. Other variants of Atkins bars only have an average of 3g of net carbs.

Atkins Endulge also contains sweeteners that are not acceptable on the keto diet. Sucralose does not offer that rewarding effect to the brain, so you may tend to eat more than expected.

Lastly, Atkins Endulge does not contain any quality essential nutrients. It is lower in carbs and has no vitamins and minerals, so we dont consider it keto-friendly.

Unless youre willing to go dirty on keto, you probably want to avoid Atkins Endulge bars.
